Professional Artist Osiris Rain

Osiris Rain (b.1986) is an American realist painter whose work is heavily influenced by the struggle and contradiction of the human condition. His paintings reflect the natural essence of his models, “that moment when you're alone, and you're staring at the mirror, and you aren't expected to be anything for anyone; It's usually sort of a solemn, a quiet personal moment, where you pause and there's some loneliness and sadness, followed by a deep exhale, and a laugh at having traversed the everyday brushfires of work, love, and living.” His works express through the tactile play of texture, color, and light to capture the sentiment and beauty of the human condition. Steeped in personal symbolism, his paintings, heliocentric in nature, strive to transcend the boundaries of place and time.

Trained in Florence, Italy at the Angel Academy of Art, and in Stavern, Norway under Odd Nerdrum, Osiris’s work has been exhibited and collected in Europe and North America. He is currently based in Charlotte, NC and works out of his studio in a historic renovated Cotton Mill.
